We meet every Friday, in Weatherford, Texas. We share our time and talents together, to teach classes, host interest based clubs, and events. Our classes and events are designed to bring families with children of all ages together in fellowship, so that they can build friendship and skills with others of similar age or common interest.

 

Adults can sign their children up for between 1 and 4 classes. You can also join as a member only to attend events if that serves your family best. This is not a drop off co-op. Instead, you'll be on campus serving along side other adults while your child is on campus.  We do not require you to teach a class, but do require each adult present to help out in some way while on campus. While we do not require anyone to teach, we do offer priority registration for teachers.

 

Our classtime structure each semester: Each hour we try to provide multiple choices of classes or interest based clubs for each age group. 

 

We will meet between 9:00 a.m. and 2:15 pm. (hours may change slightly)

 

9:00   -  9:10      Announcements

9:15    - 10:15    First hour

10:20  - 11:20    Second hour

11:25  - 12:05    Lunch

12:10  - 1:10      Third hour

1:15    - 1:35      Clean up time

1:15    - 2:15      Activities Hour - (Clubs, etc. Time varies on activity, depends on teacher availability)

 

Fees: Our fees are kept as low as possible to make our casses available for anyone who wants to join. Fees may be adjusted per semester.

 

Membership fee: $60 per family, per semester 

 

Class fees: In addition to membership fee.  Per student - covers cost of supplies or materials, as determined by teacher. Our teachers are volunteers unless hired for a specific skill needed by membership.

 

Background checks: $15/per adult. Both parents/guardian living in the student's home must complete this. By joining Lighthouse Christian Home Educators, member families agree to compete Youth Protection Training (online), Criminal Background Check, and Sex Offender Database Check.  Paid directly to the company performing background check, not to KBCC.  Non-refundable.  To help with cost, this is required every 3 years, instead of every year.
